OVERFLIGHT / LANDING PERMITS
Obtaining international permits to comply with every
country’s overflight and landing requirements can become
an added burden in your international flight planning
process. Part 135 Charter Operations are subject to a
separate set of regulations and requirements that need to
be met to operate legally in most countries. If you need
assistance in obtaining the required permits, we can help.
The service includes the following country specific
permits:
-
Cuba overflight permits: Single trip or monthly
blanket permit
-
Central America permits: Belize, Guatemala,
Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama
-
South America permits: Bolivia, Brazil, Chile,
Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname
and Uruguay
The U.S. Federal Code of regulations 122.24 requires that
aircraft arriving in the U.S. from points south of the
border “shall land for Customs processing at the nearest
designated airport to the border or coastline crossing
point”. This requirement can result in unnecessary and
expensive stops for General Aviation aircraft returning to
the U.S. from Mexico, The Bahamas, Caribbean and other
points south of the border. Having a CBP on-time or
one-year “blanket” Overflight Exemption allows you to fly
directly to an airport in the U.S. where CBP is present
that is convenient to your itinerary and final
destination. We can assist with the prompt and correct
filing of the exemption with the appropriate CBP port
before your next international flight.
For one-time permits please allow up to 15 days for
processing. For one-year blanket permits we recommend to
request the service 30 days in advance.
Foreign countries have their own unique regulations
covering non-scheduled commercial traffic to/from their
countries. Not having the correct permits and
documentation can result in fines, delays or worse. Be in
compliance before making your international trip by
verifying country specific documentation requirements with
us and have us process the permit needed.
